In the summer of 2010 OrangeMite Studios presented its third original musical
Heavy Lies The Crown, written by William Wolfgang and Jesse Rupp, and under the direction of Yvette Hershey. A grand musical comedy dealing with issues of power, pride, and the supremacy of love, this production proved to be a wonderful success and OrangeMite’s grandest production to date!
A plane goes down over the Guatemalan Jungle stranding five people in its deadly confines. The survivors soon discover that being rescued is the least of their worries when they are captured by an egomaniacal Aztec king named Tenoch and his Aztec tribe. Things continue to get stranger as they learn that King Tenoch controls the minds of his subjects with his crown.
However, King Tenoch is not without his own problems. He desperately wants to find love again but fears to do so because so very often his wives meet a bitter sacrificial end. Faced with the choice to love again or to live alone for the rest of eternity, King Tenoch uses the crown's power for an evil many would consider irredeemable.
