| Poppy Field
I had this image in my head of a poppy field fading into the sunset. It is acrylic on canvas. |

| Desert
Here I mixed an orange color for the full background and then applied a brown down half of the canvas. I added streaks of white, then lightly brushed some yellows into the orange. Them, I directly a applied black paint to the canvas and spread it with a pallet knife. It is acrylic on canvas. |

| Forest
I wanted to approach painting without really thinking. I started by mixing a purple and blue color, spread them on the canvas, and blended the two into a mixed background. Then, I turned the painting sideways and saw tree trunks, and created an imaginary forest. It is acrylic on canvas. |

| Zach
On my own time I decided to draw a picture of Zach. This is outdated now, but I still like the drawing in that it shows my pencil skills. |

| Still Life
My first still life in my art class was of these foam shapes and a glass cup on a black mat and tray. I used a lot of contrast in my shading and used an eraser for bright highlighting effects, especially in the glass. For added contrast, I rubbed shaded fingerprints around the still life. |

| Tribal
Not too long after I saw the movie Apocalypto, I was inspired to draw and watercolor a character from the movie. This was one of the pictures I found, and after I drew a basic outline, I filled the drawing in with watercolor. |

| Perspective
This piece started out as a perspective drawing from a picture that I had. For my art class we were to choose a picture with a focal point. The one I chose was a picture from Virginia beach. I liked the clock because it had inscribed on the face "Decker", which is a family name of mine. From this, I created a perspective drawing that goes back to one point. Later on in the class, we were to choose a piece of art and watercolor it. I chose this one. |

| Mark
Drawing with pencil is one of my best talents, especially when it comes to shading. I wanted a picture that would provide me with deep shadows and contrast. This is a picture of Mark Wahlberg. |

| Girl
As one of my pieces on pointillism, which is an image created from multiple dots, I chose to recreate a picture of a girl in a field. |

| Final Sneaker
My final on pointillism was this sneaker. |

| Hand Study
A hand study is finding five different hand poses and then drawing each one of them separately. These are the poses I chose for mine. The object is to capture the hand at different angles. |

| Imagine
On my own time, I felt like creating a watercolor. This is a collaborative piece with my boyfriend, Zach. We took turns putting down one watercolor item at a time. The product was this creative painting. |

| Eye of the Box
Can you see it? My eye is in there. I adore this musical jewelry box and decided to draw it one day. Because of how fond I am of it, I decided to add a little part of me. |

| Soda Pop
This art piece is a display of color contrasts, specifically color opposites. The two examples are blue and orange and purple and yellow. It also features geometric shapes that tie in the color combination. |

| Final Hand Study
As part of my art class final, I had to do another hand study, which included hand poses that were more difficult than the original hand study. |

| Final Still Life
For my final still life, I chose a bottle, a pear, and a sunflower, which I placed on the heavily textured art table to cast some detail on the overall picture. |
